I’m a reformed journalist who now makes maps and does spatial analyses for a living.
Abby is my daughter. You’ll see a lot about her on my blog.
Gina is my wife. You’ll see a lot about her, too.
I kinda swore I would never blog, so this is how I’m going to justify it:
1. I’ve got a little kid and the relatives can keep up with her through my pithy writings.
2. I’m into photography and a blog is a cool way to show off and talk about f stops and shutter speeds and other stupid stuff. I take a lot of photos of the aforementioned kid and posting some of those will support justification #1. (I’ve also got a Flickr account, but it confuses some people.)
3. Everybody’s doing it.

Hello!
I came across your blog & pictures while looking up Hiking in Arkansas.
I am so interested in taking my family hiking, nothing crucial & back breaking but memorable enough for them to be interested in. Of course with the mix of the beautiful photographs and landscape as a back ground. I have 3 teenagers ranging from 15-19, I know they are physcical enough to handle it, but do you reccomend a beautiful location? All the pictures on your blog are just breath-taking. If you have any advice or suggestions I’d greatly appreciate it. We are from Texas so, heat is not a problem, but i’d love to see mountains, waterfalls and all the good stuff.
Thanks again!
Don Dailey,
You write beautifully. I was so sorry to hear about your grandma, but I truly enjoyed all your descriptions of life on her place in De Queen.
I stumbled upon your blog while searching for one of my professors with the same name. Your daughter is a lucky little girl! The pictures really capture your happiness, especially the last one of your wife at the beach. If I had to chose one word for it, I would call it Bliss.
